Swale looking for progression in cup game against higher league opposition...............................Swale United FC First XI entertain Division 1 East high flyers Sheerness East FC in the Les Leckie Cup this forthcoming weekend. Swale will be looking to follow on from there fine perfomance against Hawkenbury FC. We spoke with First Team manager Kevin Hake about the game:

"I think there is a real good buzz about the place at the moment and having watched the Reserves on Saturday my team selection for this Saturdays game shall be very tough. We have a very good squad and shall be looking to strengthen this in anyway we can over the coming weeks."

"I have seen Sheerness East's recent results and they were unbeaten from October until narrowly beeing defeated by a strong Premier FC team. We will not be under estimating the task in hand but I am fully aware this is only a cup competition and our sights are firmly set on promotion from the league and the cup is a nice side line."

"In terms of players this coming weekend I shall be looking to rest a few of the first teamers in preparation for our away league game against Malgo FC on 12 December 2009. I am confident in the lads that we can call upon to do a job."

Thanks Kevin and good luck this Saturday, for those wishing to attend the game kick off is at 1.45pm.

"We now have a run of 3 cup games in December and we will be able to pit our wits against higher league opposition and hopefully progress well in all of the cups."

We asked a few questions about the event after the character draw took place:

What is the Royal Rumble?
"It was decided at pre-season training that this years Christmas Do would be a Wrestlers fancy dress party with each player being nominated a wrestler. We have held the draw for wrestlers on Saturday with only a handful of 1st Team players still left to draw!!!"

So who is who?
"Unfortunately the players are sworn to secrecy and any player who identifies the wrestler they have chosen shall incur a £10 fine. A number of players and senior management have already be fined and STONE COLD MATT SMITH knows how much he owes!!!"

21 Nov 2009 : Reserve Team Manager scores the winner..................................
Reserve Team Manager scores the winner..................................Swale United FC Reserve XI proceed in the Cup following Aaron Hodges late winner. We grabbed a quick word with Reserve Team Assistant Manager Tony Lewis following his side's progress in the Cup:

"With ten minutes to go it looked as though we were heading for extra time, so Aaron and I decided to try one last throw of the dice and it paid off with Aaron scoring the winner with 8minutes to go!! To be fair had it not been for a superb save on 89minutes from Luke Titshall in goal we would have gone to extra time."

"Aaron and I are just so pleased with the way things are going and it is the first time I have known a Reserve and First team so united! At every other club I have been at there was always problems with players not playing for certain teams, here at Swale that simply does not happen."

"Lee Peters had been playing superbly in the reserves for the past couple of weeks hence he got his chance with the First team today, the same can be said for Kemo (Martin Kemsley). Going the other way the dropped players atitude is superb and they know if they perform well here in the Reserves they will get their chance back in the First XI again."

Thanks for talking to us and good luck next week in the league.

Swale lose out in poor weekend for the club despite some good perfomances..................Despite being away for the weekend Club Chairman Matt Smith is disappointed with the results and looking forward to this coming weekends Cup games.

"I spoke with both managers and really understand their individual disappointments but we all have to realise that Rome was not built in a day and that for both teams this weekend was a blip in an otherwise good start to their league campaigns."

"I know both Aaron and Hakey want to work on certain things at training and know that every player involved next weekend will be more than up for their individual Cup game. I am very pleased with the season so far and as we enter the November period both teams are still in the mix for promotion and despite losing games the teams have bounced back with wins."

Thanks Mattt and having watched the First Team game I felt a draw would have been a fair result.

COME ON UNITED...............

Aaron Hodges going all out for manager of the month................Following Aarons 8th victory in 9 games and with his side only conceding 10goals and scoring a masssive 47! We grabbed a quick word with the Reserve Team manager:

"I am over the moon with the way things are going and put it all down to myself! Only kidding, everyone at the club has been brilliant and with this being my first mangerial appointment things could not be going better."

"Both Tony (Lewis) and myself are amazed at the atitude and desire of the players and congratulate each and everyone of them on their achievements to date, however it is still early days and we have a long season ahead of us. Hakey has been spot on as well and we both cannot wait to see how far we can push our respective sides in our leagues!"

Thanks Aaron and congratulations on what you have achieved to date, anyone wishing to see the Reserve Team they are in league action this coming weekend away against Emerald Star Classsics FC, kick off at 14.15.

04 Oct 2009 : Two more victories for the club despite First Team going behind
Two more victories for the club despite First Team going behindThe club recorded two fine victories away from home on Saturday and after the games we grabbed First Team manager Kevin Hake:

"I am over the moon with the way the lads played today, believe it or not but I think 3-1 flattered Platt today and they are far from a poor side. We hit the bar the post and everyone inbetween however the sign of a good side is that they kept going and got the goals their play deserved."

"I have spoken with Aaron and know he was pleased with the Reserve teams result however the most pleasing thing for me is that they have kept 2 clean sheets on the bounce, something we in the first team do not appear to be able to do at the moment!!!"

"The lads have reacted well following the defeat against Bredhurst however I am under no illusions as to how tough this league is, next week see's us in the cup and it will give me a chance to rest some of the regular first teamers."

Thanks Kevin and good luck in the cup next week, congratulations as well to Aaron.

27 Sep 2009 : A great result for Reserve Team..............
A great result for Reserve Team..............Despite Saturdays First Team fixture being cancelled late due to Hamstreet FC unable to field a side, the Reserves put on a superb show for the First Team manager and players that attended the game. We grabbed a brief word with First Team manager Kevin Hake:

"I am absolutely gutted our game was cancelled at the last minute today and hopefully the league will take the appropriate action. The perfomance put on here today by our Reserve team was brilliant and is testament to Aaron and Tony."

"I thought the lads that were pushed down to the reserves responded brilliantly and have caused us a real headache for next weekends fixture."

Thanks Kevin and well done to Aaron, recording the football clubs biggest win.

COME ON UNITED.............

19 Sep 2009 : Both sides record victories in good day for the club.....................
Both sides record victories in good day for the club.....................Both sides record victories as the season continues with pace, we grabbed club Chairman Matt Smith for his views on today:

"I really do not know what to say from one week to the next it is a real roller coaster at the moment! After last weekends disappointment everybody at the club rallied round to put things right, the results here today are testament to the effort put in a training."

"I was with the First Team today and felt we thoroughly deserved our victory against a very physical Chartham team. I hope in the reverse fixture we are appointed a stronger referee because the two footed challenge committed by their captain on Scott Forster was shocking and deserved more than just a caution!"

"What I would say today being an ex keeper myself is that the save Luke pulled off in the last minute was superb and secured all three points for the entire team. The team spirit the lads showed was great and at full time you could see what this result meant to them"

Thanks Matt and well done to everyone at the club
