The football club is sad to announce that Club Chairman Matt Smith has resigned his position at the football club but he has vowed to help both sides push for promotion as much as pratically possible. Tom Hake has been appointed Chairman in the interim period.
We spoke with a despondent Matt Smith who had the following to say:
"I am gutted that I am having to resign my position but unfortunately I cannot commit myself fully to the football club and I will only ever do something 100%, 75% is not good enough and it is also not fair on Martin, Kevin's, Aaron & Tony."
"The current ecconomic climate is such that I am needed to dedicate far more time to my business and thus do not have the spare time avaliable for Swale Utd FC."
"I know both teams will be amongst the promotion places come the end of season and I wish the entire club management and players both a happy and prosperous new year and all the best for 2010. Thanks to everyone for the past 18months it has been great."
"I am also pleased to announce that Tom Hake shall be re-appointed Chairman during the interim period as of 1 January 2010 and we all wish Tom the best during this tiime."
Thanks Matt, and we wish Tom all the best in his second stint as Club Chairman of the football club.
