COME ON SWALE..................

29 Aug 2010 : Swale have successful weekend at SCC as the new season approaches..................
Swale have successful weekend at SCC as the new season approaches..................Both Swale United FC teams won their respective games here at SCC against two very strong teams. The signs looked very good for both sides and we grabbed a word with First Team manager Kevin Hake:

"I am pleased with this result as it brings us to the end of our pre-season campaign undefeated, Sheppey came here today having defeated local rivals Borden Village 6-1 and from this showing I can see how they did that. They are a very good footballing side who will do well in their league, but we played very well for 70mins and the boys showed true character to come back from 2-0 down."

"I have some very difficult decisions to make this week with the first league game coming up, today we were missing 10 first team squad players through injury/holidays etc but they will all be avaliable for our first home game next weeekend."

"Congratulations also go to Aaron and his side as they played superbly against one of my many old teams in Medway Queen FC. It all bodes well for the forthcoming league campaign and myself I cannot now wait, bring on Saga........"

Thanks Kevin and well done to you and your team.

Swale lose out on penalties despite spirited display against APM.......................Swale lose out to experienced APM Mears FC team on penalties following a 0-0 draw after 120mins, we grabbed a quick word with First Team Manager Kevin Hake after the defeat:

"The lads did well today and despite the final result I am over the moon with how the lads worked and getting 120mins under their belt this early in the season is great news. The APM side were an experienced bunch and I thought our younger lads did very well indeed."

"As a whole the game was very entertaining and we were pleased to not concede in open play and it was good to see the lads defending brilliantly. We now go into our last pre-season game against Sheppey United FC very confident and looking forward to the start of the season on 4th September."

"I wish APM Mears FC all the best for the next round and for their forthcoming season."

Thanks Kevin and well done to all the lads involved, it was a thoroughly entertaining game for those that attended.

COME ON SWALE...................

20 Aug 2010 : Despite the current financial climate being poor Tom Hake gains another partner for the club...........................................
Despite the current financial climate being poor Tom Hake gains another partner for the club...........................................It is with great pleasure we announce that SP CABLING LTD have joined our corporate sponsorship team for the forthcoming season 2010/11, we grabbed a word with a proud Tom Hake in Spain:

"This is really good news for the club and I am delighted that SP Cabling have finally come on-board, despite the current financial climate they are still prepared to invest money into a club like ours, they too can see the potential and what the overall goals for the entire club are. I thank Steve (Porter) for his financial commitment and hope to see him at a few home games this coming season."

"This is in no way an end to the financial backing we require for this coming season, so if there are any kind business owners reading this and would like to back a well organised club awaiting their Charter Status then please do not hesitate to contact me via the website to discuss options avaliable."

"At present we are entering into negotiations regarding our home ground and as soon as the deals are in place I will let you all know the news. My best wishes go to the First XI on Saturday against APM Mears FC and lets hope we can progress against higher league opposition."

Thanks Tom, trust the weather is not too hot out there and look forward to hearing about the home ground issue.

19 Aug 2010 : Club Chairman calls on all players to drum up player sponsorship......................
Club Chairman calls on all players to drum up player sponsorship......................Following the succesful start to pre-season we grabbed a quick work with Club Chairman Tom Hake, currently sunning himself at his villa in Spain:

"I have been in weekly contact with both managers and am very pleased with the things I have been told. I should be back for the first league game however at present I am finalising a sponsorship deal with a local builder in Newington."

"As at every football club monies are extremely tight and that is why I am asking all playing and management members of the football club to actively start looking for kit sponsorship. The sponsorship would mean the company has a link on the website plus their names forming part of your online player profile. As a football club all we ask for this is £30 per season, a small amount which could make a big difference to the club."

"In terms of this Saturdays game I shall be in constant contact with Kevin (Hake) prior to and after the game to find out how the boys did. All I would ask is that the whole club get behind the First XI in their first competitive match of the season."

Thanks Tom and hope the weather there is not too hot....................

19 Aug 2010 : First Team ready for first competitive game of the season..............................
First Team ready for first competitive game of the season..............................Swale First XI entertain APM Mears FC from Division 1 East of the Vandanel Kent County League this coming Saturday 21 August 2010 in the Les Leckie Cup. We grabbed a word with First Team manager Kevin Hake about the upcoming fixture:

"The lads have been training superbly and with numbers never dropping below 15 at any one session I cannot fault the boys commitment. Although we have lost some players in the close season both Kev (Little) and I have picked up some quality players to replace them."

"We have only had 3 real friendlies going into this game and to be brutally honest we have not had a chance to play our strongest 11 together yet, but what I would say is that the team work ethic is the best it has been since I have been at the club."

"Both Kev (Little) and I are looking forward to welcoming APM Mears to UKP and hope our lads give a good account of themselves against their higher league opposition."

Thanks Kevin and good luck in the cup.............

19 Aug 2010 : Opening Fixtures released from the Kent County League.......................
Opening Fixtures released from the Kent County League.......................The Kent County League have released Septembers fixture's, Swale's opening league fixture will be a tough test against last seasons 3rd place side Saga Sports & Social FC. We grabbed a word with First Team manager Kevin Hake:

"The opening fixture's are very tough and as we know from last season Saga are a strong footballing team. The positive to take from all of the fixture's is that they are all to be played at home."

"I am looking forward to welcoming the new side's into the league, however I am confident following our very successful pre-season that the boys will be ready to give a good account of themselves come 4th September."

Thanks Kevin and good luck for the forthcoming season.....
