Swale hit top of the table Malgo FC for three ...................Swale United FC have had a great January and following this superb victory we grabbed a word with First Team manager Kevin Hake:

"Saturdays game was so good on the field, I can honestly say it is one of the best days I have had since I have been at the club. We started the day badly with our preparation but the lads put that to one side and performed brilliantly all over the park."

"I know people had written our title hopes off following our dismal defeat away at Tenterden but following that game we have gone on a great run. We have another tough game this weekend with the visit of Broadstairs FC but I think the lads could make this an un-defeated January."

Thanks Kevin and good luck at home to Broadstairs.

15 Jan 2012 : Good weekend for the First Team with convincing 10man win...........................
Good weekend for the First Team with convincing 10man win...........................Swale ran out easy winners against struggling Tenterden Town FC despite havingMarc Greene sent off on 24minutes, we grabbed a word with First Team manager Kevin Hake this morning after yesterday's win:

"I thought yesterdays was a good win but we still made hard work of a side like Tenterden, although Greeny's sending off meant we were 10 vrs 11, I always knew the quality we had would get us the goals we needed! At only 1-0 and with ten men we were tempted to change the shape of the side but stuck with 4 4 1 and as you can see it paid dividends!!"

"I am particularly pleased for the defence who kept only their sixth clean sheet this season and to be honest at no point did I think they got in behind us or force Luke into making any saves. We are beginning to play and use the principles I bring to this football club however next week these will be extremely tested as we travel to top of the table Malgo FC who will be looking to make up for their own poor result at Broadstairs FC."

"After yesterday's performance we go into the game full of confidence and having only conceded six goals in the last seven games four of which were shipped at home to NK Aces FC. We need to start picking up points from the top three to stand any chance of promotion this season and with Malgo losing yesterday it shows that most teams in this league can beat each other whatever there position in the league."

Thanks Kevin and well done for the fine victory yesterday.

10 Jan 2012 : Chairman pleased to announce the appointment of new Commercial Director.............................
Chairman pleased to announce the appointment of new Commercial Director.............................Chairman Matt Smith is delighted to announce the appointment of CWI Summits Director of Sales Jason Smith as the clubs new Commercial Manager.
We spoke with an excited Matt Smith about the appointment:

"I am pleased not only for the club but also for myself, the appointment of Jason to this key role within the club will not only produce some much needed structure to our commercial side but also give me a chance to catch up with my brother on a monthly basis, because at the moment Christmas and Birthdays appears to be the norm."

"Jason and I both work in extremely busy enviroments and I just managed to catch up with him before he flew off to Dubai on business. I know Jason will bring a wealth of knowledge and business contacts to the club and together we will be looking to build on the clubs growing Commercial Membership scheme."

"During our brief discussion we have already discussed the posibility of taking a team to play in Dubai against an Afghanistan ministerial team and these are all options, only avaliable to the club following this massive appointment! I cannot wait to sit down with him in a week or so when he returns from Dubai to discuss how we can generate the much needed revenue to push the club forward."

"On other matters I am currently finalising the ground issue's we have at present and will discuss this further with the committee during our monthly meeting. I am also in finalised discussions with a Dartford based company regarding the complete sponsorship of both teams, however until the deal is done I do not want to tempt fate."

Thanks Matt and welcome on-board to Jason.

02 Jan 2012 : Tom Hake resigns his position as Chairman and old hand Matt Smith re-takes the helm...............
Tom Hake resigns his position as Chairman and old hand Matt Smith re-takes the helm...............It is with great pleasure the football club announce the return of Matt Smith as Club Chairman following Tom Hakes decision to take up the role of Life President. We grabbed a word with the "Peter Ridsdale" of local football Matt Smith:

"I am delighted to return but slightly dismayed with the challenge I now face, the club has been coasting for a year or so now and I think its about time we pushed ourselves forward for the rest of this season and into the next. My first duty will be to finalise the current sponsorship issue's we have and re-align the club financially, I will keep you updated with our newest sponsors just as soon as I have closed them"

"I have followed the progress of the football club following my resignation 2years ago, and this time around I will be taking a more hands on approach and will be looking to appoint both a Vice Chairman and Commercial Director in the very near future! As a football club we only have to look at the success story of Woodstock Park whom only three years ago were playing Kent County Division 2 standard football and now are only one step away from the Kent League. I have not come back to just make up the numbers I intend to make the club more efficient and accountable which in turn I hope will yield results on the field"

"I am currently looking at next season and where we as a committee see the football club heading, at present I cannot make too many things public but rest assured I WILL be doing my utmost to push this football club forward with both corporate and subsidised funding"

Thanks Matt and we look forward to seeing you more on match-days.

04 Sep 2011 : Winning start for both teams in the HAART Kent County League.............
Winning start for both teams in the HAART Kent County League.............Following yesterdays 100% start to the season we grabbed a word with Club Chairman Tom Hake:

"Unfortunately I could not get to the game yesterday but I am so pleased for the entire football club, todays victories are testament to all the hardwork the players and management have put in during pre-season!"

"Saturdays games are merely the start of what will be a very hard and long season for all at the club, I am confident in both teams doing well however only time will tell. "

"This coming Saturday see's a tough fixture for the First XI whom will entertain newcomers Sevenoaks Town Reserves FC, I wish both Aaron and Kevin good luck for next weekend and hope the winning runs continue."

Thanks Tom, COME ON UNITED..........

01 Aug 2011 : First Team manager relishing the challenge of Kent League opposition this weekend...........................
First Team manager relishing the challenge of Kent League opposition this weekend...........................First Team manager Kevin Hake was jubilant after his side's 3-1 victory against Kent County Premier Division team Snodland FC, we grabbed a quick word with him yesterday:

"Despite making some changes to the starting eleven we still put in a very good team perfomance, whilst I am by no means getting carried away with things, it is great the lads are getting into the winning habit. We have seen some comings and goings this pre-season however I am confident the group of lads we have here at the moment will do well in Division 2 East next season for the club"

"When Kev (Little) and I were talking about Pre-season fixtures we decided we wanted to push the lads as much as we could and this Saturday coming see's us travelling to Kent League side Lordswood FC in what will be our toughest game yet. I am personally looking forward to pitting my witts against Lillis (Jason) and my thanks go to him and his club for agreeing to the fixture."

"Although this will be a tough game and one we are expected to lose we will send our team out the same as we have done in the other three pre-season friendlies and that is to just play and enjoy themselves. This fixture will also gives us the oppurtunity to look at a couple of different options we have in midfield and in defence."

Thanks Kevin and good luck for what could be a very difficult fixture.
