Match Report - 24 Oct 2009, Swale United Football Club First Team beat Lydd Town FC
Swale continue their winning ways with a fine victory here at Lindsey Fields, Lydd despite the awful wintry weather.
Dave Stacey continued his scoring run with his 8th goal of this campaign, however it was new signing Pasa Karabulut making his debut for the sittingbourne side who took all the plaudits.
The away team made a dream start on 6mins when the inform Richard King rifled home from 25yards out giving the goalkeeper no chance. The sittingbourne side continued to push for a second however following a rash challenge from centre half Carl White Lydd were awarded a free kick on the 18yard line. The Lydd midfielder to his credit struck an unstoppable kick which Aaron Armstrong in the Swale goal had no chance with. Swale responded quickly and were back in the lead on 22mins following a fine strike from the ever green Scott Forster.
Unfortunately for the away team the lead was shortlived and following a fine run from the Lydd striker he put the game back on level terms on 30mins. The first 45mins finished all even and as the teams trudged off for half time the Swale management teams faces showed just how disappointed they were with the players first half performance.
The visitors took the game to their host's in the second half and showed why they are undefeated in five games. The goals were scored by Scott Forster on 53mins, Dave Stacey on 65mins and Marc Greene on 76mins.
We grabbed First Team manager Kevin Hake after the final whistle, who had the following to say:
"I am proud of my team today, they put in a sub-standard perfomance in the first 45mins but showed what a team we can be in the second 45mins with some super football. I am pleased with the way Pash settled into the team and showed just what an assest he will be to the squad."
"Both Kev and I are looking forward to training on Wednesday to work the lads in preparation for the game against league leaders Saga who have started the season brilliantly."
