Match Report - 13 Feb 2010, Swale United Football Club First XI beat Pembury FC
Swale United continue their run of good form with a 2-0 win at home to Pembury on Saturday.
The game started brightly with the Pembury keeper forced to make numerous good saves in the opening mins.However Gary Hake unleashed a strike from 20 yards on 7 mins which there was little he could do about.The home side continued to dominate creating numerous further saves,the pick of the bunch being from Gary Harding from 7 yards on 35 mins.
The home side went in at half time 1-0 up,contemplating a possible Pembury come back.Swale went out in the second half and started brightly,the ever lively Danny Grant was a thorn in the Pembury defence's side all game and created some great openings for Swale.Swale never gave Pembury a look in and started to play the ball about well.However it was an individual piece of skill by Danny Grant on 55 mins that sealed the win.He received the ball on the right and flicked it over the defenders head and smashed an unstoppable strike into the top right hand corner,much to the crowds delight.The football was a lot more convincing second half and the move of the game saw Scott Forster some how miss from a few yards out.Both Richard King and Paul Holt went close later on to further increase the lead but the game ended up finishing 2-0.
