Match Report - 21 Aug 2010, Swale United Football Club First Team drew with APM Mears FC
Swale lose out to strong and experienced APM Mears FC team who should be pushing for promotion in Division 1 East of the Kent County League.
Despite pushing the Division 1 club for the full 120mins, it was the home side left disappointed having a last minute penalty waved away when Danny Grant was brought down in the 18yard box. Unfortunately for the home team the officials waved play on and the game went to penalties where APM Mears FC were more clinical and ran out 5-4 winners.
We asked Assistant Manager Kevin Little for his comments on the game:
"Both Hakey and I are really pleased with the lads, they defended superbly and with Peters and Greeny on there game alot of teams will find us very hard to break down. The pre-season training proved its worth with the lads still looking good for a winner even in the 122minute!!!"
"Hakey will put the boys through 2 more training sessions prior to our last pre-season game against another Division 1 side in Sheppey United FC. This should prove to be a very tough test as they have already beaten our local rivals 6-1 previously this pre-season!!!"
"We will be looking for the lads to be slightly more clinical in this last game and I know it is something wwe will be working on this week in training. After our game on Saturday a Reserve squad will take on a very strong Medway Queen FC team."
Thanks Kevin and good luck for this coming Saturday in your last pre-season friendly.
