Match Report - 10 Sep 2011, Swale United Football Club First Team lost to Sevenoaks Town FC
Swale lose out against Sevenoaks Town as Ross Frost is sent off on 26mins following a deliberate hand ball.
Despite the loss against a strong side Assistant Manager Kev Little is still confident about the season ahead:
"The sending off changed the game and I think they would agree that they took a two goal lead against the run of play. We were pleased with the reaction the lads gave us when Frosty was sent off but to be honest against a strong team like Sevenoaks it was always going to be tough with only ten men!"
"Even with ten men our lads matched them for 40-50mins either side of half time however as we pushed for an equaliser and went three up top they exposed us at the back and despite the score being 3-1 it could have possibly been more. They have a very lively strike force who will cause many sides problems however only time will tell if Sevenoaks are around the top of the table come the end of season."
"We spoke at half time about how badly we defended for both their goals and said that is was up to the midfield and strikers to dig the defenders out of the s**t!! The lads gave there all and I think that Sammy was superb as was Greeny who really tried to rally the troops."
"We now face another tough test this coming weekend with an away Cup game against a strong Bromley Green FC side, we will be taking a mixture of First Team and Reserves along to the game in order to bed certain players into the setup and have a look at them in the First Team. Both Hakey and I are in agreement that the Cup competitions are not as important as the league campaign this year.!
Thanks Kevin and good luck for Saturday.
COME ON UNITED.......
